ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT

ACADEMIC ADVISING FOR NEW STUDENTS

Before commencing registration, each new student is encouraged to have an advising session with an academic advisor. The session includes guidance in selecting an appropriate plan of study, reviewing student’s progress on the core curriculum, reviewing major eligibility, discussing applicable academic policies, making individualized program recommendations, and providing other appropriate advisement

The academic advisor will use information (e.g., high school transcripts, assessment scores and other evaluative data) to assist students in pursuing a program consistent with their educational goals and level of preparation. Students should use the SIS (student portal) and/or maintain contact with their Enrolment Specialist throughout their enrollment.

PLAN FOR SUCCESS AT NAAC

Each student is responsible for being adequately informed about the requirements for their desired program and that the courses in which they enroll will meet the program requirements. To gain a total college experience, students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with NAAC’s campus, services, activities and resources. NAAC academic advisors, as well as family and peers, can all be valuable sources of information and referral. Students should become familiar with the Student Catalog, Class Schedules and College Catalog. Students are also encouraged to participate in programs, classes and activities that help them develop and grow wholistically.
